Modular 18㎡ Flat Pack Container Holiday Cabins in Australia
In Australia’s coastal and rural holiday markets, small modular cabins are becoming a popular choice for weekend stays and eco resorts. A single 18㎡ flat pack container module can serve as a compact studio, but when several modules are joined side by side, the living area expands into a comfortable multi-room space suitable for longer stays.
One project in Australia used a three-module combination—totalling around 54㎡—to create a spacious holiday cabin with a bedroom, living room and kitchenette. The exterior was finished with metal carved panels, giving the building a textured, premium façade that blends well with natural surroundings. Inside, bamboo wood fibre wall panels were used to create a warm, residential feel, and SPC flooring provided a durable, scratch-resistant surface ideal for high foot traffic and easy cleaning.
For the wall core, rock wool sandwich panels were chosen to enhance fire safety and sound insulation, an important consideration for bushland areas with strict regulations. Combined with a small terrace and a partially flat roof area, the cabin delivered both functional comfort and attractive design, helping resort owners increase booking appeal and guest satisfaction.
