PU Sandwich Panel Flat Pack Container Lodge Extensions in Canada

In Canada’s remote lodge market, operators often need to add rooms without committing to heavy permanent construction. Using 18㎡ flat pack modules, several units can be linked to create generous suites and multi-room extensions that integrate with existing buildings.

One lodge project combined four 18㎡ modules into a flexible 72㎡ guest wing. PU-core sandwich panels were chosen for the walls to provide high thermal insulation, important in colder climates where energy efficiency directly affects operating costs. On the façade facing the forest view, part of the wall was replaced with glass curtain walls, allowing guests to enjoy panoramic scenery while keeping the structure airtight and thermally controlled.

Inside, SPC flooring offered a robust, water-resistant solution suitable for snowy or wet conditions, and bamboo wood fibre wall panels added a natural, cabin-like atmosphere. The roof was designed as a full flat rooftop section, structurally prepared to be later converted into a usable terrace or green roof, giving the lodge owner future flexibility.

This combination of PU panels, glass curtain walls, SPC flooring and modular expansion allowed the lodge to quickly increase capacity while maintaining high comfort standards, improving both occupancy rates and guest reviews.
